Our mission was to design a cost-effective family home using timber as the primary construction material. The proposed structure was timber-framed, offering not only environmental benefits but also cost savings and efficient build times.
The exterior was finished with clean render cladding, chosen for its contemporary look and added insulation. This design approach brought together affordability, sustainability and modern style, resulting in a warm, energy-efficient home that doesn’t compromise on aesthetics or practicality.
The brief also included:
A key challenge was creating a loft conversion with a low-pitched roof that complied with building regulations while still feeling open and spacious. To achieve this, we worked closely with a Structural Engineer to reduce the thickness of the floor and roof construction, gaining the required head height.
By streamlining the construction and refining every detail, we were able to maximise natural light and usable space within the loft. The result is a bright, welcoming living area that not only meets regulations but exceeds expectations.
Other highlights include:
This home is a clear reflection of what can be achieved with smart design, thoughtful materials and a client-focused approach. It’s now a bright, stylish, and practical space tailored perfectly for modern family life.
