01. The Brief

This project was all about reimagining a traditional barn into a contemporary countryside retreat. The client wanted a design that embraced the barn’s rustic heritage while incorporating modern living features.

The result is a one-of-a-kind home that reflects the perfect fusion of old and new, built to offer comfort, functionality, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

02. Challenges & Considerations

One of the standout challenges was to ensure the barn sat harmoniously within its rural setting while introducing contemporary design elements. The partially green roof was a key decision, helping the structure blend effortlessly with its natural surroundings while also improving sustainability.

Another major feature was the double vaulted glazed gable end, designed to flood the home with natural light and provide panoramic views of the countryside. Every detail was carefully planned to celebrate the relationship between the indoor and outdoor spaces while staying true to the building’s agricultural origins.
