Our mission was to collaborate closely with the client to design an exquisite loft conversion inspired by the luxury and sophistication of a high-end hotel. The aim was to retain the classic charm of a traditional dormer while incorporating a large picture-style window to maximise natural light and elevate the exterior look of the home.
The client’s brief focused on creating a spacious, luxurious bedroom with a sleek ensuite that would offer a calm, spa-like retreat. A key request was the inclusion of a freestanding bath positioned to take full advantage of the stunning views over Worthing. In addition, the design needed to include a generous walk-in cupboard for practical storage, and a classic bathroom that balanced traditional features with modern convenience.
This project presented several design and structural challenges that demanded thoughtful planning and creative problem-solving.
One of the most significant challenges was integrating a freestanding bath in a position that preserved the panoramic views of Worthing, without compromising the overall layout or flow of the space. We studied the available floor plan in detail and found a placement that balanced visual impact with practical use.
Incorporating a large, traditional-style ensuite brought its own set of structural considerations. The main issue centred around the staircase and ensuring there was enough headroom without disrupting the proportions or functionality of the new space. Achieving this required careful modifications to the existing structure to allow for a modern internal staircase that met both design and safety requirements.
Despite these complexities, our team remained committed to overcoming each challenge with precision and attention to detail. The result is a cohesive design that blends practicality with style, proving that good design is as much about solving problems as it is about aesthetics.
